Music Industry Advocates Demonize File Sharers

Is anybody gonna stop these guys?  I mean, at what point do people finally say "enough is enough" where the music industry advocates relentlessly pursuing college students and certain legitimate elements of the technology industry are concerned?
Slashdot was carrying a story in Canada’s "Globe and Mail" newspaper today – concerning a "survey" which allegedyly suggests those of us who’ve dared downloaded music or video from the Internet before are somehow more suceptible to such behaviours as "shoplifting" and "cheating"!  I have a question – what kind of scientific study is it that one could have reached such a claim?  They’ve crossed a line here (the music industry) in their quest against file sharers: now they’re trying to build a stigma and stereotype around those who don’t share their position.
And they oughtta be ashamed of themselves!
To this point, they could at least claim the status of victim in this whole situation.  Their profits being unfairly syphoned off in violation of a concept we all endorse and agree with: that of copyright and intellectual property. But no longer.  In sinking to the level of the common hate-monger, it is the entertainment industry that has awakened not the stigma of pirates copying movies and music in dimly-lit university dorms – but that of the wealthy, influential, socially-concsious entertainment industry moguls leveraging the utility of a smaear campaign to generate a witchhunt-ripe atmosphere in defence of their cashflow.  And the even bigger shame is: their efforts are no less futile for any of it.
When will they learn?  When!??
