Vista: The Last Windows?

Yes….it’s still happening.  Another kook has somehow seized control of the reigns at Microsoft and is talking nonsense about Vista being somehow the end of the line for the traditional PC-based OS.  Um….anyone involved with technology would have to respond to such a notion as like trying to say ‘wheels are now obsolete’.  With the company founder being the guy who once rehetorically quirked "Why would anyone need more than 64K of RAM?" – you’d think the lesson would long ago have been learned.

But apparently not, as this article from Slashdot explains….   My reply to one of the immediate commenters on the article also follows on Slashdot’s article forums.
