Windows Live Feels Like Death Warmed Over?

Do you agree that Microsoft Live applications should offer a more intelligent installer?  Make yourself heard using the poll applet here!

s many of you know, I am a huge advocate and evangelist of Microsoft’s .NET technologies.  However, one chronic source of disappointment for me is Windows Live.  My latest beef?  Why does it need to re-install absolutely every Live application known to man when I got prompted this morning to upgrade my Windows Live Writer blogging tool?

C’mon, Microsoft!  Get with the program (as in software) and make your Live app suite installer a little more intelligent.  It’s not that hard — I certainly was able to get the installer for Microsoft Commerce Server 2009 R1 to install a number of optional features that integrated elements of Commerce Server, SQL Server and SharePoint!  So I am quite sure the folks at Live can spare us the need of a 20-minute install that only re-installs apps we already have in the name of updating one.
